What is yoga?
There are many different forms and systems of yoga. At Yoga One, we focus on Hatha Yoga which is the physical practice of yoga postures. Each class begins with a centering or meditation followed by the instructors choice of postures (asanas). Classes end with relaxation and meditation.
What are the benefits of yoga?
Yoga has many benefits—depending on what you choose to take from your experience. Many student find spiritual, mental, and physical benefits from their practice.

Do I have to be flexible to practice yoga?
No. People of all different physical fitness levels are able to practice yoga. It is important that you listen to your body during class and practice at the level that feels comfortable and safe for you. If you are brand new to yoga, please be sure to select a class labeled Yoga Basics/Level 1.
What do I bring with me?
Bring a yoga mat if you have one as well as a towel. We have mats at the studio available for sale, or you may rent a mat for $2 per class. You may like to bring a small towel and water as well.
What do I wear?
Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing. We practice with bare feet. Please refrain from wearing very baggy clothing so your instructor can see that you are maintaining safe alignment.
Do I have to sign up in advance?
We highly encourage preregistration online to reserve your space in class. You can sign up for classes on our website or you can download our free app from the iTunes or Google Play app stores. Please arrive 15-20 minutes before the posted class time to sign in and set up your mat.
Is there parking?
Yes, there is free and abundant parking in Oakwood plaza. Please use common sense and do not leave valuables or personal items in your car, whether they are visible or not. The yoga studio is not responsible for any losses or thefts.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, personal checks for packages (with photo ID), Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
Can pregnant women practice yoga?
Please consult with your physician.
As long as your midwife or OB has given you clearance to practice yoga, you may come to our prenatal yoga classes, as they are open to expectant women with and without prior yoga experience.
Do you offer hot yoga?
Yes! We are adding hot yoga classes to our schedule in July 2016.
I have not exercised in a long time, is yoga safe for me?
Consult with your physician before beginning any exercise program. Yoga can be made accessible to people of all fitness levels. We would suggest starting with Gentle Yoga until you feel ready to attend more challenging classes.
When are you open?
We are open 20 minutes prior to each of our regularly scheduled classes. For appointments, please call us at (954) 929-YOGA (9642).
Do I have to be a vegetarian?
No. We celebrate choice in yoga. While some yogis are vegetarians, please choose the diet that makes the most sense for you.
Is yoga a religion?
No. Students of all backgrounds and religions practice at our studio. We look for the good in all people and things.
Are there any precautions women who are menstruating should take when practicing yoga?
Listen to your body. You may wish to avoid inversions during your menstrual cycle.
