What is yoga?
Yoga is about opening and exploring, and reconnecting with the innate goodness
in each of us. Literally, yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning "yolk" or "union". Developed
in India over 5,000 years ago, yoga encompasses many elements: spiritual, mental and physical. Hatha
Yoga, the yoga of effort, is a system of physical postures called asanas, which were developed to
heal the body by releasing tension, building strength and creating a stronger mind-body connection.
Each physical posture, or asana, has benefits that help to create balance in the mind, body and spirit.
Every class at Yoga One includes breathing, movement, stretching, and relaxation.
